Ģ����ý’s Google Apps package includes Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Google Talk, and Google Sites.

Faculty, staff, and students all have access to the Google Apps package. Volunteers, vendors, and other affiliates can request access by completing the appropriate form on our Forms page.

Retiring employees may request a new @ret.unca.edu Google Apps account when they retire.

Lots of storage – You get a full 25 GB of online storage for your email (much more than what you probably have now), so you can archive all of your email online. You’ll no longer need to worry about deleting messages or saving them in offline folders.

Enhanced message organization and retrieval – With Google Mail, you’ll spend less time managing folders and searching for messages. For example, you can add one or more tags, or “labels,” to your messages to organize and store them more efficiently. And with the Google-powered search feature, you can find any message quickly and easily, whether it’s in your Inbox or stored in your message archive.

Easier calendar sharing – Google Calendar lets you quickly and easily share your calendars and specify the details you want to show. Calendar sharing is a great way for you and your contacts to keep each other informed about your schedules. Now it’s easier than ever to find out if someone is in a meeting, on a business trip, or on vacation.

Integrated chat – With the Google Talk instant messaging application, you can communicate instantly right from the Email interface. In addition, all your chats are automatically saved in your Email application, so you can always retrieve important information.

Real-time collaboration – Using Google Docs, you can create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and you and your collaborators can view and edit them at the same time. You can still use your other document editors, as needed, but now you’ll have more options for storing and collaborating on documents.

Easy-to-build team websites – With Google Sites, you can quickly publish a robust internal website on which to gather all sorts of shared information, such as documents, spreadsheets, presentations, files, and videos. You can even embed Google calendars and other gadgets on your site!

This session provides an overview of the Ģ����ý reporting tool ARGOS.  We will examine the elements that makeup ARGOS, including Security, Datablocks, Dashboards, and Reports & Scheduling.  We will review other resources available, along with OLAPs, Library of Objects, the Co-op, and Evision’s Customer Service & Knowledge Base.  After this training, users will know the difference between datablocks and reports.  They will appreciate the other elements they may not have been familiar with and what levels of security to request for their ongoing reporting needs.  The audience for this training is users new to our university or users new to ARGOS.  This training may also be helpful to users that need a refresher on what ARGOS is and what the possibilities are when using ARGOS.

This training session will provide an introduction to using the Etrieve Content document management system. Topics covered will include scanning, uploading, and modifying documents within the Etrieve system.  No prior experience using Etrieve is required for this session.

This training session covers the basics of form design. As a group, we will learn how to start a new form, explore the editor, and design a simple example form (or a real-life form if requested). All forms begin their design by using the topics covered in this session, whereas some forms require more advanced features of Dynamic Forms. If a real-life form design is requested we will build the form covering only the topics included here in the Basic Form Design session. In these situations, we will continue form design by covering more advanced design topics in the Advanced Form Design session. Topics include:

Virtualization is a method of abstracting software and services from the hardware on which those systems run. There are different types of virtualization in computing, the most common being server virtualization, storage virtualization, and network virtualization. Ģ����ý leverages all three of these technologies to provide a highly available and reliable computing infrastructure for the campus community. VMware is one of the software tools ITS uses for server virtualization.

ITS provides Windows Server systems administration services for campus infrastructure Windows servers, as well as support for non-ITS servers in areas such as Ramsey Library, the Bookstore, and OneCard.

ITS provides MacOS Server systems administration services for campus-level Mac servers as well as support for academic departments such as Art, Mass Communications, and Multimedia Arts and Sciences.
